Quetzalcóatl Orozco Ramírez is a researcher at the UNAM Institute of Geography, in the Territorial Studies Unit in Oaxaca. He has a Ph.D. from the University of California, Davis in geography (2009-2014). His research has focused on the interaction between culture and diversity of native corn. As well as the social and environmental processes involved in the changes and conservation of agrobiodiversity. His topics of interest are traditional agriculture, territorial planning, biodiversity conservation, knowledge, management and in situ conservation of genetic resources for agriculture. Currently conducting research on agrobiodiversity in the Mixteca Alta de Oaxaca.

In the Colaboratory Kitchen project, he directs thesis and advises on agriculture and use of natural resources. In particular, supporting the diagnosis of traditional agriculture, the production and consumption of local foods; as well as advising for the development of agroecological and sustainable alternatives in agriculture.
