"Las Caracolas" Learning Community

Rogelio Martínez and Crescencia Galván are a pair of traditional farmers with vast experience in growing crops such as tomatoes and chickpeas, products that are an integral part of their lives and community. For many years, they have worked the land with care and dedication, cultivating the fruits that feed their families and their surroundings. They also have their own agricultural space, where they grow vegetables and corn, following methods that have been passed down from generation to generation.

In 2023, Rogelio and Crescencia decided to join the agroecology group Las Caracolas, with the firm purpose of learning and applying new farming methods that would strengthen their commitment to the land and to healthier, more sustainable food. Through agroecology, they have sought to integrate practices that promote soil regeneration and biodiversity, while maintaining respect for natural cycles and the crops they cultivate.
