"Las Caracolas" Learning Community

Silvia Soto is a farmer committed to cultivating the land and seeking new ways to improve agricultural production in her community. Since 2023, she has been an active member of the Las Caracolas agroecology group, with the goal of learning and applying sustainable and regenerative methods, such as syntropic agriculture. This approach, which promotes harmony between crops and soil biodiversity, has been key to her growth as a farmer.
That same year, Silvia established her own garden, a space where she now grows fresh, nutritious vegetables. This not only allows her to consume healthy products herself but also to sell food complemented by the vegetables she harvests. Her garden reflects her effort to integrate agroecological practices that benefit not only her own and her family’s well-being but also contribute to the health of her community.
