Adriana Cadena Roa

Xochimilco Coordinator

Adriana Cadena Roa is a social anthropologist and cultural manager with a solid background in the intersection of culture, art and collective memory. Since 2020, she has worked as creative coordinator at Cocina Colaboratorio Xochimilco, where she has promoted the creation of safe spaces for exchange and experimentation in the territory. Currently, she is conducting a Postdoctoral Stay of Advocacy in Mexico, funded by CONAHCYT (2023-2025), in which she delves into the theoretical and methodological scope of agency and transdisciplinarity to redirect the course of food systems towards more sustainable routes.

Her research work, within the framework of the collective, examines the critical possibilities offered by artistic practices and the archive in relation to the debate on the public, the dimension of the sensitive, the community and agency, all from a biocultural perspective. With a transdisciplinary approach, she has co-designed projects and actions that place at the center the construction and reconstruction of collective memories, connecting the past with the present and opening new possibilities for the configuration of potential biocultural memories
