Diego Hernández Muciño
Agroecologist
Diego is a biologist (2009) and a PhD in Biological Sciences (2018) from the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM). Currently, he is doing a postdoctoral research at the Agroecology Lab of the Institute for Research on Ecosystems and Sustainability (IIES-UNAM). His following research topics stand out: the productive restoration of rural and agroforestry landscapes, the integrated and sustainable management of the landscape and the promotion of agroecology and agroforestry as a tool for social change. He has published scientific articles and book chapters on these topics, and developed teaching and training activities for rural producers. Likewise, for more than 10 years he has collaborated with organizations operating productive projects and agroforestry landscape management. He is linked to national and international networks, both academic and non-academic, on ecological restoration, agroforestry, agroecology, transdiscipline and social economy.
Diego has been part of the Colaboratory Kitchen transdiciplinary team since its pilot in 2018, involved in agroecological restoration projects with Food Forests in the ejido of Loma Bonita and Ejido Boca de Chajúl.
